EU Data Residency
On the Business plan, you can choose to store an organization's webhook data in the European Union instead of the United States. The data region is chosen per organization, when you create it.
Availability: the EU region is being rolled out. If you are on Business and don't see the data-region choice when you create an organization, contact us and we'll enable it for your account.
What is stored in the region you choose
Everything your webhooks produce and everything you configure for them:
- Incoming webhook payloads and headers, and the event history
- Deliveries, delivery attempts, retries and the dead letter queue
- Sources, destinations, routes, transforms, filters and schemas
- Outbound webhooks: applications, endpoints, subscriptions, messages and attempts
- Cron jobs, scheduled sends, API pollers, alert rules and notification channels
- Customer-portal tokens
- Audit log entries for those resources
Payload bodies are kept in object storage located in the EU jurisdiction.
What stays in the United States
The account-level records Hookbase needs before it knows which organization a request belongs to:
- Users, logins, two-factor and passkey settings
- Organization membership, invitations and roles
- API keys, IAM policies and SSO configuration
- Billing, subscription and usage counters (counts only, no payload data)
- Audit log entries for those account-level actions
In transit
Webhooks are received at Cloudflare's edge, closest to the sender, and the stored copy is written to the EU. Queued deliveries are processed by Cloudflare's global queue infrastructure and can briefly carry a copy of the payload until it has been processed. Operational logs and aggregate analytics are global and do not include payload bodies.
Choosing the region
- Open the organization menu in the sidebar and choose New organization.
- Under Data region, pick European Union. You need to be an owner or admin of a Business organization to choose it.
- Create the organization. Its region appears on Settings → Organization.
The region is fixed once the organization holds any data. While it is still empty, the owner can switch it on Settings → Organization. To move an existing organization that already has data, contact support to arrange a migration.
If an organization in the EU region later moves to a lower plan, its data stays in the EU.
Limitations
These features are not yet available for EU-region organizations:
- Custom domains for ingest URLs
- Tunnels for local development
Use the standard hookbase.app ingest URLs, or a US-region organization, for those workflows.
