Terms of Service - Hookbase

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hookbase ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Hookbase provides a webhook relay service that allows you to receive, transform, and route webhooks to multiple destinations. The Service includes:

Webhook ingestion with signature verification
Payload transformation and filtering
Reliable delivery with automatic retries
Localhost tunneling for development
Event logging and monitoring

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code
Send spam or unsolicited communications
Infringe on intellectual property rights
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Interfere with the operation of the Service
Circumvent usage limits or billing
Resell access to the Service without authorization

5. Service Plans and Billing

Plans

We offer Free, Starter, Pro, and Business plans with different features and limits. Plan details are available on our pricing page.

Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as stated in these terms.

Overages

If you exceed your plan's event limit, additional events may be blocked or charged at overage rates. We will notify you before blocking or charging for overages.

6. Service Level Agreement

Business plan customers receive a 99.9% uptime SLA. Downtime excludes scheduled maintenance and circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

7. Data Ownership

You retain all rights to your data. You grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your webhook payloads or configurations.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and documentation, is owned by Hookbase and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOOKBASE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hookbase from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.

12. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice.

Upon termination, your data will be deleted according to our retention policies.

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.
