DigitalOcean Webhooks
Cloud infrastructure platform. DigitalOcean has no native webhooks (alerts go only to Email or Slack), so bring its activity in with an API Poller instead.
Connecting DigitalOcean to Hookbase
Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into DigitalOcean. Then:
- 1DigitalOcean has no webhook destination: Monitoring, Uptime and App Platform alert policies notify only by Email or Slack, and App Platform has no outbound deploy hook
- 2To bring DigitalOcean activity into Hookbase, add an API Poller to this source that polls the DigitalOcean API (for example /v2/actions or /v2/apps/{app_id}/deployments) with a read-only personal access token
- 3Leave signature verification off for this source: DigitalOcean signs nothing, so there is no secret to enter
Signature verification
DigitalOcean does not sign its webhooks with an HMAC scheme, so a signing secret on the source would have nothing to verify. Use a custom source with no secret, and keep the ingest URL itself hard to guess.
How DigitalOcean secures them instead: Not applicable: DigitalOcean Monitoring, Uptime and App Platform alerts offer only Email and Slack destinations, and there is no webhook destination to sign or authenticate.
