Connecting Railway to Hookbase

Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into Railway. Then:

1In Railway, open your project and click Settings (top right)
2Open the Webhooks tab
3Enter your Hookbase ingest URL
4Add a custom header named Authorization with the value "Bearer <token>", using the token Hookbase generated for this source
5Click "Save Webhook"

Signature verification

Verified by Hookbase

Set the source's provider to railway and paste the signing secret. Every request is checked before the event is stored, and anything that fails is rejected rather than quietly recorded.

Algorithm: Shared secret echoed as "Authorization: Bearer <token>" (not HMAC-signed)
Header: Authorization
Where to find the secret: Railway → your project → Settings → Webhooks → your webhook → custom headers. Add a header named Authorization with the value "Bearer <token>". Railway doesn't sign payloads, so this header is what Hookbase checks.

What a Railway webhook looks like

A Deployment.failed payload. Hookbase stores the raw body exactly as it arrived, so this is also what you get back on a replay.
