Bitbucket Webhooks
Git hosting by Atlassian. Receive events for pushes, pull requests, issues, and pipelines.
Connecting Bitbucket to Hookbase
Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into Bitbucket. Then:
- 1Go to Bitbucket → Repository Settings → Webhooks
- 2Click "Add webhook" and paste your Hookbase ingest URL
- 3Enter a secret for signature verification
- 4Select triggers (push, pull request, etc.)
- 5Click Save
Signature verification
Set the source's provider to bitbucket and paste the signing secret. Every request is checked before the event is stored, and anything that fails is rejected rather than quietly recorded.
- Algorithm
- HMAC-SHA256 (hex, prefixed "sha256=")
- Header
- X-Hub-Signature
- Where to find the secret
- Bitbucket → Repository Settings → Webhooks → Secret
Bitbucket event types
7 of the events people route most often. Hookbase accepts every event Bitbucket sends, whether or not it is listed here.
repo:push
A push was made to a repository
pullrequest:created
A pull request was created
pullrequest:updated
A pull request was updated
pullrequest:fulfilled
A pull request was merged
pullrequest:rejected
A pull request was declined
issue:created
An issue was created
repo:commit_status_created
A build status was created
What a Bitbucket webhook looks like
A repo:push payload. Hookbase stores the raw body exactly as it arrived, so this is also what you get back on a replay.

Paste these into the source's IP allowlist to drop anything that did not come from Bitbucket. Providers do change these — check their documentation before relying on the list.
