Segment Webhooks
Customer data platform. Receive events for track, identify, page, and group calls via webhook destination.
Connecting Segment to Hookbase
Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into Segment. Then:
- 1In Segment, go to Connections → Catalog, search for "Webhooks (Actions)", click Configure and pick your source
- 2Under Settings → Advanced Settings, paste the Hookbase-generated Shared Secret into the Shared Secret field and save
- 3Add a mapping with the Send action: set URL to your Hookbase ingest URL and Method to POST
- 4Leave "Enable Batching?" off. With batching on, Segment signs only the first event, so verification fails
- 5Enable the mapping and the destination
Signature verification
Set the source's provider to segment and paste the signing secret. Every request is checked before the event is stored, and anything that fails is rejected rather than quietly recorded.

What a Segment webhook looks like
A track payload. Hookbase stores the raw body exactly as it arrived, so this is also what you get back on a replay.
