Connecting Salesforce to Hookbase
Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into Salesforce. Then:
- 1Use Salesforce Platform Events or Outbound Messages for webhook delivery
- 2For Platform Events: Setup → Platform Events → New → define fields
- 3Create an Apex trigger or Flow to publish events on record changes
- 4Use a Connected App or middleware to forward events to your Hookbase ingest URL
- 5Consider using Salesforce Functions or a Heroku relay for more control
Signature verification
Salesforce does not sign its webhooks with an HMAC scheme, so a signing secret on the source would have nothing to verify. Use a custom source with no secret, and keep the ingest URL itself hard to guess.
How Salesforce secures them instead: Salesforce outbound messages do not support HMAC signatures. Use org ID validation or mutual TLS.
