Connecting Datadog to Hookbase
Create a source in Hookbase first — it gives you an ingest URL to paste into Datadog. Then:
- 1Go to Datadog → Integrations → Webhooks and open the Configuration tab
- 2Click "+ New" and give the webhook a Name
- 3Paste your Hookbase ingest URL into the URL field
- 4In Custom Headers, enter {"Authorization": "<the Authorization header value Hookbase generated>"}
- 5Leave Auth Method unset and don't add Basic auth credentials to the URL, because they can conflict with the Authorization header Hookbase checks
- 6Customize the payload template if needed, then Save
- 7Use @webhook-<name> in monitor notifications to trigger deliveries
Signature verification
Set the source's provider to datadog and paste the signing secret. Every request is checked before the event is stored, and anything that fails is rejected rather than quietly recorded.

- Datadog → Integrations → Webhooks → your webhook → Custom Headers (JSON) → {"Authorization": "<the value Hookbase generated>"}. Datadog echoes it back verbatim on every request; it does not compute a signature. Leave Auth Method unset and don't put Basic auth credentials in the URL.

What a Datadog webhook looks like
A monitor.alert payload. Hookbase stores the raw body exactly as it arrived, so this is also what you get back on a replay.
